I have 3 years of storyboarding experience for 2D TV and 3D feature film.

I left Johannesburg, South Africa in 2019 to advance my storyboarding career in Ireland. My comic art featured in Johannesburg Art Gallery, I have various comics published through small publishing houses, and I have featured on panels at Comic Con Africa.

Career Summary

2023 - Keyan Carlile, Story Artist - 3 months in total January, and again in November-December

  • Story Artist on fan episode of Gravity Falls and then later, a Story artist on the pilot of Keyan's original show. 

  • Work with Keyan to the script, boarding various scenes on model, to closely match the show direction.

 

2023 - Talent10 (South Africa), Story Artist February - May

  • Story artist and animation assist for animated end credit sequence on a live action feature film.

  • Work with story leads, motion graphics animators, comic artist, directors and production team, to create motion on end (MOE).

 

2022 - Triggerfish Animation, Story Artist Jan– June​

  • Story artist for as of yet, unreleased Netflix animated 3D feature film.

  • Work with story leads, directors and production team, boarding various scenes.

 

2021 - Triggerfish Animation, Storylab Internship (Aug 2021 – Sept 2021)

  • Mentored under Nathan Stanton (22 years Pixar) for phase 1 and 2 of the Triggerfish Storylab Internship program for a total of 12 weeks.

  • Full time and intensive all round coaching in cinematic language and storytelling for feature film practices, applying feedback and implementing learned lessons into practical assignments.

 

2018 - 2019 - Sera Blue Publishing (South Africa) - Comic Illustration and design (Freelance concurrent with full-time)

  • Illustrated a 24 page, queer graphic novel. Mediator between publisher, writer and printer. Launched at Comic Con Africa 2019 where I was on discussion panels with other authors on story structure.

  • ‘as and when’ graphic work including book covers, event posters, social media content, as well as proof reading fiction.

 

2018 - 2019 - Minuteman Press (South Africa) - In house Graphic Designer (full-time April - September 2019)

  • Critical reliance on eye for detail, problem solving, communication, time management and production focus as well as technical ability with the software and industrial digital printers. Speed of work was also invaluable as clients often expected quick turnarounds.

  • Excellent relationships with both colleagues & clients which generated return foot traffic. I enjoyed the high intensity work, but it lacked illustrative & storytelling aspects I am passionate about. I was sad to leave but am determined to storyboard.

Personal Interests

  • I was involved in various South African indie comic book groups, managing various meet-ups and forums across the country. My sequential art was featured in Johannesburg Art Gallery in November 2019, and I was published various times.

  • I love live music and made gig posters and album art to help support new talent. My early comics were produced as merchandise for bands.

  • 8+ years practicing Shotokan style Karate and Yoga. Balancing physical health with sedentary passions.

  • I am part of an all-female, weekly Pathfinder group that plays D&D style, co-op narrative games.
